How to have a Successful Interview

 There are many components to a successful interview.  Here are just a couple of ways to ensure you have a positive experience. 

Do a little research on the potential college/employer before you go.  

Make sure you schedule your own appointment. 

Dress appropriately.

Be on time. 

Turn off your cell phone. 

Have a firm handshake.

Arrive prepared for a conversation. Be prepared to talk about your experiences, interests, likes and dislikes. What have you learned from your challenges?  

Make eye contact.

Send a thank you note within two to three days after the interview.

Relax… it is only a conversation.

Think about what you want to say before you say it. Do not use filler words like “um” or “like.”
