Hanover Park High School had the honor of welcoming Holocaust survivor and educator Maud Dahme to speak with our students. Born in the Netherlands in 1936, Ms. Dahme shared her powerful story of survival during World War II, when she and her sister were hidden by multiple families to escape Nazi persecution. Our students were deeply engaged and intrigued as she reflected on resilience, courage, and the importance of remembering history so it is never repeated. We are grateful for the opportunity for our Hornets to hear such an important firsthand account and learn the value of empathy, courage, and standing up for others. 🐝

🐝 Random Act of Kindness!

We would like to recognize Gabriel G, one of our HP juniors, for demonstrating a true Random Act of Kindness in the classroom.

Gabe consistently shows patience, kindness, and quiet leadership by supporting a classmate who sometimes needs extra reassurance. Without drawing attention to himself, Gabe steps in with encouragement and guidance, helping create a more supportive and respectful learning environment.

His thoughtful actions have made a meaningful difference and reflect the type of character that makes our Hornet community so special.

Thank you, Gabe, for leading by example and showing what it means to care for others. 💛🐝

🎙️ Mic Drop Moment with Teddy Savage!
Today, our student body had the incredible privilege of hosting the one and only Teddy Savage. If you weren't in the auditorium, you missed a masterclass in resilience and heart.

Teddy didn’t just give a speech; he shared a roadmap for navigating life’s toughest hurdles. From powerful life lessons to actionable insights, he reminded us all that our potential is only limited by the boundaries we set for ourselves. 🚀

Key Takeaways from the Session:
Mindset is Everything: How you view a challenge determines how you conquer it.

The Power of "Yet": You might not be where you want to be yet, but the journey is the reward.

Community Matters: Success is a team sport—lift others as you climb.

Thank you, Teddy, for your energy, your wisdom, and for challenging us to show up as our best selves every single day. We’re leaving today feeling inspired and ready to put these lessons into motion! 👊🔥

👏 Audrey Lee
👏 Louana Baltazar
👏 Kelly Lu
👏 Adriana Rosa
👏 Savannah Daniele
👏 Natasha Blumberg
👏 Matt Cohen

This year, the show received more than 500 submissions from 14 different high schools, and due to limited gallery space, over half of the entries had to be cut, making the selection process extremely competitive. Having work accepted into this exhibition is truly an impressive accomplishment!

🖼 The show will run March 30 – April 30.
🏆 The awards reception will be held on April 10 from 5:30–7:30 PM.

💡 Give to Gain: Empowering the Next Generation
What happens when 24 ambitious students from HP and WP meet the global leaders at Novartis? Magic. ✨

We recently hosted a powerful Panel Discussion program centered on the theme "Give to Gain." Our students stepped outside the classroom and into the world of professional excellence, diving deep into the core pillars of leadership and collaboration.

🚀 Highlights from the Day:
Diverse Perspectives: Students heard from Novartis professionals across various career backgrounds—proving there is no single "right" path to success.

Skill Building: Real-world lessons on how leading with a spirit of generosity (Give) leads to personal and professional growth (Gain).

Curiosity Unleashed: From R&D to corporate strategy, students networked directly with pros, asking the tough questions that will shape their future career choices.

A massive thank you to the Novartis team for opening your doors and sharing your journeys. Watching our students' curiosities turn into concrete aspirations is why we do what we do!
