Girls Wrestler of the Year: Gabriella Conte, Hanover Park, Fr.
Conte let everyone in the state know she’s bound for four incredible years on the mat.
The freshman 100-pound standout was a wrecking ball on the girls’ end with a record of 13-1 and titles at the BCWCA Girls’ Wrestling Invitational, regions and states. She took third at the Queen of the East, where she suffered her only loss of the season to Wyoming Seminary’s Jaclyn Bouzakis.
Her state championship victory came by a 7-2 decision over Ridgewood sophomore Francesca Gusfa, whom she defeated by a 14-0 major decision in the semifinals at the BCWCA Invitational.
🌟 Shout Out🌟 Big thanks to freshman Joe Takla for his superhero efforts during 1st period today! Despite technical hurdles, Joe went the extra mile to help three classmates with their Flipgrid projects. Let's recognize his Dedication & Kindness!
